And he said to them,
“When you pray, say:
Father, hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
And lead us not into temptation.” (Luke 11:1-4 ESV)
In our Christian lives, nothing is more important, and nothing more difficult to establish and maintain, than a meaningful prayer life. Although we can find time to do just about everything else, it seems that when we get to the issue of prayer, everything works against us. In Luke, Jesus gave us instructions on how to pray in the Lord's Prayer. In this series Alistair Begg explores what it means to use the Lord’s Prayer purposefully, seeking to understand and then apply the principles it teaches to our prayer life.
“As we work our way through the Lord’s Prayer, we are reminded that our fellowship with God through his Son the Lord Jesus Christ finds it’s principle expression in prayer. It is in praying that we indicate the fact that we actually have a relationship with God.” - Alistair Begg
